MeetingMute is an innovative utility for muting sounds on a Pocket PC. Although Pocket PC provides a method of muting sounds, it does not provide a method of automatically restoring the volume. MeetingMute provides functionality to automatically restore the system volume after a specified period of time.

With MeetingMute, you wont miss a future reminder because you forgot to restore the volume after a meeting-- it restores the volume for you. A link to Pocket Outlook is provided for completely unattended muting so you don't even have to remember to mute before the meeting. A must have utility for any corporate user, but equally useful to anyone who has ever been in a quiet setting and been embarrassed by their noisy Pocket PC.

There are other mute utilities out there, but none have the flexibility and functionality of MeetingMute. MeetingMute utilizes your natural Pocket PC use patterns to provide the optimal muting functionality.

Typically Pocket PC usage falls into two categories. Brief sessions to retrieve information or make a short note and extended sessions for taking notes at a meeting or lecture, reading email, authoring documents or playing games. The portability of the Pocket PC platform allows it to be used and carried with you virtually everywhere. This includes environments where sounds emitting from it would be inappropriate (Meetings, Libraries, Church, Restrooms...). Sometimes unexpected reminders can sound even when you are not using your Pocket PC. In these situations you would no doubt prefer to mute your Pocket PC. Pocket PC provides the means to mute sounds (The speaker icon in the system tray on the Today page.), but unfortunately it does not provide an automated mechanism for restoring the volume. If you are unfortunate enough to forget to restore the volume before you power off your Pocket PC and return it to your pocket, you will undoubtedly miss future reminders. With MeetingMute, restoring the volume is automatic.
