Pocket Outlook Integration
Wouldn't it be nice if you didn't have to remember to mute your Pocket
PC volume when you went to a meeting or appointment so you won't be
interrupted? What if you didn't have to remember to turn the volume
back on after the meeting? What if it "happened" all by it self and only
for the meetings you really want it to? That's exactly what MeetingMute's
Pocket Outlook Integration provides! Simply select the categories of
meetings you want the volume muted for and MeetingMute does the rest.
If for some reason you need the volume back on during a muted meeting,
simply open up the MeetingMute dialog and select the restore option (There
is even a way of restoring the volume without opening the dialog).
Passive Interface Design
MeetingMute has been designed to work unobtrusively
in the background. Once installed and configured, you can almost
forget that it is there -- except that your sounds are heard when they are
suppose to be and silent when they are not. With MeetingMute you can
have confidence that you won't miss a reminder because you forgot to
restore the volume or another program changed your sound settings.
Sound Protection
With a device as complex as a Pocket PC, inevitably
there are going to be situations where things happen that shouldn't.
A poorly behaved program or interaction between one or more programs and
the operating system will change your sound settings, leaving audible
events and reminders unreliable at best. Unfortunately this happens
all too often on the original Pocket PC. With Pocket PC 2002,
Microsoft has made some progress, but there are still situations that can
cripple your sound settings. To solve these issues and make audible
events and reminders more reliable, MeetingMute offers Sound Protection.
Sound Protection monitors your sound settings and ensures that they remain
unchanged. Sound Protection can be configured to provide a warning
dialog when your sound settings are changed or in its most useful
configuration, to automatically restore your preferred settings when
changes are detected.
Muting Options for Every Occasion
MeetingMute offers may ways to express a muting
interval. From the completely automated Mute for Meeting, to the
simple Mute Until Next Power On. You can mute for a specified number
of minutes or until a specified time. MeetingMute's Extend Mute
feature adds yet another level of flexibility. If you happen to be
using your Pocket PC when the mute interval expires, MeetingMute will
automatically extend the interval until the next power on when the Extend
Mute feature is enabled. Imagine that you are playing a noisy shoot-em-up
game in that board room meeting-- not that you would do this, but just
imagine (and if you never get into the board room, think of another
potentially embarrassing situation)-- and have the volume muted so that no
one will hear you. The meeting is suppose to last until 10:00, but
is running a little long. All of a sudden at 10:00 the volume is
restored (because that's what MeetingMute does) and everyone is treated to
the sounds of your latest conquest...
With the Extend Mute feature enabled, you can
continue on without disturbing anyone. The volume will automatically
be restored the next time you power on your Pocket PC. (Note: This is just
a fictitious example. PocketConcepts does not in any way promote or
endorse the inappropriate use of Pocket PCs). |
